After our meeting on Friday, Guy Billout invited me in to his class at Parsons, where he teaches various illustration courses, this one focused on children’s books. Each student shared their work with me and I was able to give input and genuine encouragement. Afterwards I too opened my folder of images, filled with sketches, finals, and those in progress. It was really great to step out of my own routine and into the warm waters of aspiring undergrads. One of things I love most about art is that for those who are in it, the conversation is always there, and it is always meaningful.
