The Enchanted Forest Dragon and I are featured in the local newspaper!
Editorial notes: Where I lived in Watertown was 3.5 miles from Washington Square in Brookline. They left out the mural bookmark I made with Booksmith and the fairy. My dad was an MD who practiced acupuncture and homeopathy.
Grateful to the writers spending the time to interview me and my mom on site and in our home. Being able to share the intentions behind the artwork with the community means a lot to me
I felt like it was time for my couch to get a new pillow. I knew I wanted one that would be leafy and had a fox. So I looked into options and then realized; oh I should just make my own!
Since it came out pretty well I’m making it available. You can get your own or give it as a gift via my shop on Fourthwall.com
My painting, Aevitas is featured in The Art of Shadows, a gorgeous new book created by David Gascón.
The all-black pages feature his philosophical writing, in both Spanish and English, accompanied by paintings that reverberate with a disintegration of both body and identity. Here are two excerpts:
<<<It is interesting to remember that “human” does not come from man (homo) but from earth (humus). That is to say, what is really proper of man is to crumble into dust and become part of what he once was. Hence the need for “humility” (another word deriving from humus) to understand that the natural state of the human being is underground, and it is only a matter of time before all return there».
<<Life is becoming. The will to exist goes beyond “being”
It is more concerned with leaving itself behind than with maintaining its own existence. That is its end. That is why flowers are stronger than the rock that forms the mountain, why a butterfly is stronger than marble. The passage of time turns the rock and marble to dust, yet a flower or a butterfly, ephemeral and delicate beings, leave behind their seeds, their offspring, the process repeating itself again and again… The life cycle continues, unscathed, while everything around it crumbles and disappears. The end of life is to transcend itself».
