Earth Day by Jane Yolen
I am the Earth
And the Earth is me.
Each blade of grass,
Each honey tree,
Each bit of mud,
And stick and stone
Is blood and muscle,
Skin and bone.
And just as I
Need every bit
Of me to make
My body fit,
So Earth needs
Grass and stone and tree
And things that grow here
Naturally.
That’s why we
Celebrate this day.
That’s why across
The world we say:
As long as life,
As dear, as free,
I am the Earth
And the Earth is me.
In recent years I’ve gotten into researching and understanding tarot cards, as well as using them in my life. More recently this has included oracle decks, which have a more open-ended structure. What I’d love to do is produce an oracle deck of my own!
To showcase how I might bring an oracle deck to life I mocked one up using pre existing work. I also threw together a few box cover comps and card backs to tie it all together. I’ve shared this with a few publishers.
