After years of illustrating her covers, this past weekend the author Maggie Stiefvater and I were able to cross paths and enjoy an evening together. We discussed the traveling life, the creative process, animal terminology, modern mischief, and if only briefly, the series. She gifted me a copy with a lovely dedication and raven drawing all her own.
