The folks at Fearless Media thought it time to reboot the logo I did for them years back when the firm began. I was skeptical at first, but the end result is pretty sharp.

Last night I watched Ender’s Game, a story close to my heart since reading it in my formative years. I won’t rail on the movie, which is fine, but can’t hold a candle to the book, nor is it helped by the abundance over the past decade of child savior narratives. Being back in that world did compel me to dig up a collection of logos I made for my youngest brother in early 2000. He was something of an Ender as a teenager, leading troops in on online army game called Counter Strike. I think I spent the entire weekend in my apartment in LA working on these, which served as the emblems for his team’s squadrons. Seeing the depiction of kid soldiers and the Battle Room reminded me of the legacy that story’s had, within me and so many others. So I’m dusting off this old collection and am sharing it out of a sentiment for teamwork and brotherly love.

“There is, one knows not what sweet mystery about this sea, whose gently awful stirrings seems to speak of some hidden soul beneath..”
Moby-Dick

Melville is awesome. Time always teaching us whose works has tapped the source. Here’s to those stories that have made their mark, forever after known as classics. I was recently invited to choose several favorites and design new covers for them. Hard to resist when so much of my work bares fruit from their trees. The Creative Action Network has partnered with the terrific Harvard Bookstore in Boston to make these available as paperbacks and ebooks. You can see them here.

I’m awaiting pictures of the books, which I’ll share here.

Just updated the cover artwork for two terrific podcasts – Originz & Mysteries Abound.

If you appreciate well selected and narrated stories ranging from lesser known historical events to strange scientific discoveries, check out Originz.

If your inclination leans more towards dark things like tales of hauntings and accounts of the unknown, turn down the lights and turn on Mysteries Abound.

Both are created by Paulrex out of Australia. Look for them on iTunes. I love listening to good stories while I work, and these have rocketed to the top of my list. Highly recommended.

Don’t generally get a lot of perks working freelance. This was an enjoyable exception.
