For me to claim that the current exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum is remarkable would be nothing new. Seeing in person Mueck’s larger and smaller than life sculptures of people {though more like replicas} and Ford’s enormous tounge-in-cheek animal watercolors is the only way to enjoy their grandeur. What struck me in addiontion to the work is the droves and droves of people who turned out for the show. It’s a great thing when so many folks, everyday folks with kids, are compelled to experience an artist’s work.

A side project I’m putting together is illustrating Craigslist. There are some, specifically in the Best Of section, that are charming in their colorfulness and absurdity. So if there are any in particular that you think are great, feel free to send me the link and I’ll put them on my list of condidates. thanks :)

Hey LA gang, head over to Wacko’s La Luz de Jesus for the unveiling of Mu Pan‘s new work. He’s a great painter and good friend from NYC out to the west coast for the first time. If you’re just passing through the Hollywood area, stop in at the gallery for the art, get lost in the eccentric toy and book collection, then head over to The Good Luck Bar a block east on Sunset to kick it with a cold one, and/or hop a block north on Vermont for a sweet slice at The House of Pies. Good times.
